Not much new to report today. Mac is doing more at PT daily, eating a little more, and feeling a little better. They told me that for every day you spend sick in bed, it takes 3 to recover. In other words, it's a slow road, but in the right direction. His ANC is still low. So they started the search for a MUD (Matched Unrelated Donor) yesterday. I have no idea of the timing of anything... how long we give the Tacrolimus, how long until a BMT is confirmed, etc. Tomorrow I'll meet with our primary hematologist and I'll update again with more information. In the meantime, all we can do is pray more! Thank you for checking in!

  1. Hey Barbara & Moe,
It sounds like Mac is taking baby steps in the right direction! I hope his appetite continues to pick up and his PT goes well. Please know that we are all praying very, very hard for him EVERY DAY. We are also praying that God provides the two of you the strength that you need to get through this ordeal. Tell Mac since he's feeling a little better he can do some school work :-)

Sending love & prayers your way!!

PS... Barbara I'm happy to report I now know how to shrink wrap a basket. You would be so proud of me.

  2. Glad to hear that Mac's recovery is going in a positive direction. Make sure you are taking care of yourself and know that we are praying for a donor and a quick recover. Let us know if there are any details about a Bone Marrow drive. Maybe someone close to you will be a match.

  3. Glad to hear he is out of ICU. Sounds like you all are being very strong. He is always in my prayers. When we do our prayers at dinner table my ten year old always remembers to include Mac. The boys never met him but know of his situation and remember him. Please tell him he is being very strong. And tell Mo are thoughts are with him, we miss him at soccer and wish you guys the best.
